About the role
A small, specialized consultancy that does nothing but air dispersion modeling is hiring an Air Dispersion Modeler. It works for clients across the US and internationally, everyone on the team models, and this seat is fully remote anywhere in the United States.
What you'll do
- Own dispersion modeling studies end to end, mostly in support of air permit actions
- Run AERMOD, plus CALPUFF or CAMx where a project needs them
- Prepare emissions inventories
- Select and process meteorological data (AERMET, CALMET)
- Analyze ambient monitoring data and help prepare local, state and federal permit applications
What you need
- Hands-on AERMOD experience, the one must-have
- Experience with emissions inventories, met data processing and ambient monitoring data
- A degree in environmental science, engineering or a related field
- Based in the US and able to work full-time and independently from home
- Consulting history and your own client relationships are a plus, not a requirement
What's offered
- Base from the low $100Ks for a newer modeler up to about $175,000 for a senior modeler, plus a bonus program
- Modeling all day, without the side work and red tape of a large firm
- Room to shape your own career path, and a path to ownership for the right person
- Fully remote
